The dual-process of reactive and intentional decision-making involved in eco-friendly behavior

چکیده
We extended the prototype model Gibbons and Gerrard to examine the disparity between professed environmental concerns and behavior. Our model assumed that there are two decision processes: a reactive process involving unintentional decision-making based on situational factors, and an intentional process involving goal-oriented decision-making based on attitudinal factors. A questionnaire about recycling behavior was completed by 206 Japanese undergraduate students. The results indicated that the prototype image and descriptive norm were determinants of the reactive process to accept eco-unfriendly behavior. In contrast, environmental concern and the injunctive norm were determinants of the intentional process to promote eco-friendly behavior. Our model suggests that eco-friendly behavior may be inhibited or promoted depending upon whether the reactive process or the intentional process is more salient. r 2007 Elsevier Ltd. Eco-friendly Biosorption Process of Reactive Blue 52 Dye Using Alga Dried Biosorbent of Filamentous Alga Species: Equilibrium, Kinetic Studies and Intervening Effect
Background & objectives: Dyes are structurally complex materials, which enter into the environment due to discharging of textiles effluent from dyeing and printing processes. Reactive Blue 52 dye is used widely in the textile industry. Therefore, we investigated the efficiency of the filamentous Alga as natural adsorbent in the removal of Reactive Blue 52 dye from textile wastewater. Methods: ...
متن کاملAmmonium salts as economical and eco-friendly N-sources applied to green, simple and scale-up synthesis of trialkyl amines in water
We have introduced a selective synthesis of tertiary amines using alkyl halide and ammonium salts as the amine sources in water. This green process has outstanding superiorities, such as being eco-friendly, possessing ammonium salts, and using water as a green solvent in the absence of organic ligands or catalysts. It is worth mentioning that the presence of t-Butyl alcohol and potassi...
متن کاملProduct Development Decision Support System Customer-Based
Quality Function Deployment (QFD) has been traditionally used as a planning tool primarily for product development and quality improvement. In this context, many people have used QFD for making decisions on how to prioritize critical product areas from a customer perspective. However, it is the position of the author that the QFD process can be viewed as a decision support system that would enc...

متن کاملDetermination of right/left return to scale in two-stage processes based on dual simplex
As a non-parametric method of relative efficient measurement of a group of decision-making units (〖DMU〗_s), Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is one of the most important tools in efficiency computation. One of the main concerns dealt with in DEA is dealing with return to scale in two-stage processes in which, produced outputs of the first stage inputs are used as inputs for the second stage. The...
